Anthony Harling
Anthony Harling is the Managing Partner of Archer Mann, a boutique executive search and executive coaching business conducting international cross-border assignments in different sectors and countries around the world.
As Senior Partner of Heidrick & Struggles, he led the UK Technology and Professional Services practices and in 2000/2001 led the European rollout of LeadersOnline, an early internet-enabled recruiting business.
Anthony was also co-founder of Not Actively Looking, a career management platform for senior executives.
Anthony has a BA in Modern Languages from Bristol University and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.

Anthony Harling has a 30-year track record in the executive search industry, during which time he has met with and interviewed thousands of senior executives in different industries and conducted multi-country C-level and Board searches for companies and non-profit organisations all over the world. In his early career, Anthony worked with Heidrick & Struggles International, one of the Big 5 global executive search and leadership consulting firms, working both in London and in Frankfurt. After focussing initially on the technology sector, Anthony has since broadened his area of activity conducting international cross-border assignments for Board members and C-suite leaders in multiple industry sectors including automotive, general industrial, business services, consumer, luxury goods and Not-for-Profit.

As a career transition coach and executive careers advisor, Anthony is able to leverage his experience and understanding of the executive search industry to help senior executives manage their careers more effectively. In doing so Anthony has developed a methodology based on the concept of the “career story”, a clear and compelling personal narrative for senior executives that helps to articulate where they’ve come from and where they’re going.
Irrespective of their job function or industry, senior executives often find the process of career transition mysterious, frustrating and difficult to manage. Partnering with Anthony, executives learn how to position themselves more appropriately, how to build leverage their professional networks, and how to develop meaningful and productive long-germ relationships with the executive search community.
